Heritage Weavers was founded by David Kendal, who leads the company as Managing Director today. He is surrounded by a small but highly skilled team, with close to 80 years combined expertise in the design and manufacture of fine textiles.

David’s love of cloth started early, when at the age of 16 he set out as an apprentice in a cloth mill in his hometown of Huddersfield, England. During those first years he worked in every department and learnt each process in depth; from design to finished cloth.  

Since then, he has travelled the world selling cloth, and learning extensively about the manufacture of fabric and the influence of different cultures on its design and production. Travelling across different continents, David knows the importance of communication and building relationships, to ensure client’s expectations are not only met but exceeded. 

Cloth is in his blood. Talk to David about cloth and he comes alive, speaking with passion and emotion. He tells how cloth ‘gets under your skin’, the unmistakeable smell of the mill in springtime as the weather warms up, and the rhythmic sound of the looms. 

This passion coupled with a desire to deliver quality and outstanding service to every client, led David to establish Heritage Weavers in 2020. This is far from fast fashion; this is a business built on a lifelong passion for quality, a desire to serve and relationships built over many years. 

David proudly leads a cohesive team at Heritage Weavers, empowering them to share their love of cloth, forge new ideas and strive for excellence in every part of the company. They too maintain his mantra in business of - ‘Quality, design and service’.
